CONVICT OUR HEARTS
Convict Our Hearts
Jer. 4:19-20 “Oh my anguish, my anguish! I writhe in pain. Oh, the agony of my heart! My heart pounds within me, I cannot keep silent. For I have heard the sound of the trumpet; I have heard the battle cry. Disaster follows disaster, the whole land lies in ruins. In an instant my tents are destroyed, my shelter in a moment.”
Jer. 2:34 “On your clothes men find the life blood of the innocent poor, though you did not catch them breaking in, yet in spite of all this you say ‘I am innocent, he is not angry with me.’ But I will pass judgment on you because you say ‘I have not sinned.”
The Lord spoke a strong rebuke to me “All Christians who voted for our last president have the blood of the innocent poor upon their hands.” The unborn cry out. Ps. 35:17 “O Lord, how long will you look on? Rescue my life from their ravages, my precious life from these lions.”
Ps. 35:22-23 “O Lord you have seen this; be not silent. Do not be far from me, O Lord. Awake and rise to my defense! Contend for me, my God and Lord.”
Ps. 37:12-13 “The wicked plot against the righteous and gnash their teeth at them; but the Lord laughs at the wicked, for he knows their day is coming.”
God promises not to destroy Israel all together for their unbelief, as he will do to their enemies. Is. 13:9 “See the Day of the Lord is coming- a cruel day, with wrath and fierce anger- to make the land desolate and destroy the sinners within it.”
God’s covenant church has been given many promises like God’s people, the Jews. If the church of the Lord does not repent and continues to disregard his covenant, He, God, will bring judgment on them also. Even now, America is being plundered by foreigners. This is one of God’s sure judgments on any country who turns its back on God. We look back to the Old Testament. There we find Elijah calling God’s people to make a choice, either serve God or serve Baal. Many present day Christians say, “We don’t serve Baal.” However, the word of God
warns us that whomever we cast our lot with we are also in agreement with, whether for good or evil. Lev 18:21 “Do not give any of your children to be sacrificed to Moloch for you must not profane the name of your God. I am the Lord.” In modern days we would say, “Do not give a child to the abortionist’s knife to be ripped out of its mother’s womb.” We find in Leviticus a strong rebuke to those who would destroy a child, whether in the womb, or to a false god. These actions are both the same in God’s eyes (murder). In Lev 20:1-5, the Lord says to Moses, “Say to the Israelites: ‘Any Israelite or any alien living in Israel who gives any of his children to Molech must be put to death. The people of the community are to stone him. I will set my face against that man and I will cut him off from his people; for by giving his children to Molech, he has defiled my sanctuary and profaned my holy name.
If the people of the community close their eyes when that man gives one of his children to Molech and they fail to put him to death, I will set my face against that man and his family and will cut off from them their people both him and all who follow him in prostituting themselves to Molech.” America has prostituted itself by killing the unborn, while most of the Christian churches kept silent. Judgment is upon America! Our covenant with Christ remains as relevant today as it was in the Old Testament times. God’s covenant in the New Testament reveals his promises and his stipulations. We are committed to love the Lord and to serve him with our whole heart.
Christ’s death for the church is our ultimate motivation against falling into sin. We must abstain from all appearance of evil. Prov. 14:12 “There is a way that seems right to a man, but in the end it leads to death.”
1 Thess. 5:23-24 “May God himself, the God of peace, sanctify you through and through, may your whole spirit, soul, and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. The one who calls you is faithful and he will do it.”
1 Thess. 5:9 “For God did not appoint us to suffer wrath but to receive salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ.”
